  • The U.S. Department of Education today restored nearly $30 million in funding for 47 community schools after local advocacy—ensuring food pantries and clothing closets remain available. United Way of Treasure Valley will continue its support during the current school year.  KIVI

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Idaho Public Utilities Commission approved new rates that took effect Jan. 1 for Idaho Power and Intermountain Gas, with Idaho Power customers facing a 7.48% increase and about a $12.13 rise on the average monthly bill, while Intermountain Gas residential rates rose by $2.45 plus a customer charge adjustment.  KTVB
