GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Idaho’s medical working group proposed over $1 million in funding to add 10 undergraduate seats and 15 graduate seats and a health education office to address the physician shortage; the state currently funds 50 undergraduate seats (40 through WWAMI and 10 at University of Utah) and needs 1,400 more doctors. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A new CT scanner donated by St. Luke’s Medical Center is now used at Ada County Coroner’s Office to offer less invasive exams and help forensic pathologists – using it as one-third of an autopsy – handle more cases while preserving supplies. KIVI
- ➤ Aaron Hudson, head baker and owner of Hudson Baking Co. in Kuna, is in a Boise hospital as his tumor grows quickly and doctors consider surgery or chemotherapy. His treatment may change store hours, and his family asks for patience as the community supports his fight (donations help cover expenses). KBOI
