- ➤ A skijoring event that mixes skiing and horseback riding is coming to the Ford Idaho Center this weekend amidst warm weather and limited snow. Organizers will adjust the course and rely on local snowmakers & extra help from the community as they debut the sport in Treasure Valley. KIVI

BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Autovol in Nampa is expanding its modular housing production by hiring a 60-person second shift (6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Fri-Sun) to meet rising demand. The company, which has built over 3 million sqft with advanced robotics and a positive work culture, is also exploring a new local project. KTVB

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Feb. 5, the Idaho Supreme Court upheld the school choice tax credit program ($50 million) that aids families with private school expenses by awarding about $5,000 per student and $7,500 for students with disabilities, and over 3,300 families have registered since Jan. 15. KTVB
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Idaho downwinders can now apply for $100,000 compensation if they have one of 19 cancers and were residents from 1951 to 1962, under the reauthorized act as of July 4, 2025. Tona Henderson, a local resident, assists people with the process. KTVB
- ➤ A draft bill introduced at the Statehouse requires hospitals accepting Medicaid to ask patients for immigration status on intake forms—raising privacy concerns among civil rights advocates and hospital leaders—and was presented Wednesday to the Health and Welfare Committee. KTVB
