- ➤ House Bill 636 cleared a House committee on Monday and gives Idaho school districts new options to use facility fund dollars for loans and lease-purchase agreements to build and repair school facilities. Lawmakers say the change will help districts manage deferred maintenance and growth while easing property tax burdens. KTVB

- ➤ Local families using SNAP are adjusting to new rules that ban candy and soda purchases which took effect on Feb. 15 — Campos Market on Lone Star Road reports customers learning which items qualify as the policy aims to promote healthy diets. KTVB

- ➤ Saint Alphonsus Health System will double its Nampa hospital with 254,000 sqft of new space and add 64 beds plus start an 80,000 sqft outpatient campus in North Meridian, with groundbreaking planned for June and late spring and projects set for completion in 2028 to meet growing healthcare needs.
