ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Idaho water managers warn only six weeks remain for winter storms to boost snowpack for irrigation. Fall rains left reservoirs near Boise and Payette strong, but the Central Mountains and Owyhee Basin remain far below normal after an unusually warm winter with snow confined to high elevations. KBOI
- ➤ The Idaho Department of Water Resources met on Thursday in Boise to review record warm winter temperatures and low snow levels across 26 counties that may cause below normal spring runoff. Water managers said 6 weeks remain to reverse the trend — ahead of declining Snake River reservoir levels. KIVI
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Idaho State Tax Commission said taxpayers who filed 2025 returns with the standard deduction will get an automatic increase (those seeking other new deductions must wait for guidance until mid-March).
