  • Today, the Idaho Transportation Department holds a Highway 55 open house at Vallivue Middle School (4:30–7:30 p.m.), the Foodbank offers food distribution at the Ford Idaho Center (11 a.m.–2:30 p.m.), and University of Idaho basketball teams compete in the Big Sky finals with games at 3 and 9:30 p.m.  KIVI

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Discovery Center of Idaho opened its newest exhibit Dinosaurs on the Move this week to explore dinosaur life and extinction through paleontology. Visitors can enjoy this interactive display during regular hours.  KTVB

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Idaho Transportation Department began spring brooming across District 3 highways to clear debris and reduce hazards from winter storms. Drivers are urged to slow down + give sweeping trucks enough room today to help prevent close calls on busy freeways.  KTVB
  • Lawmakers on Wednesday discussed how a previous law blocked first aid in schools and are set to let staff provide bandages and emergency care without parental consent — a change prompted by teen testimonies on delayed crisis response. The bill passed committee and heads to the House floor.  KTVB

HEALTH NEWS

  • Communities for Youth is working to support Nampa teens after a survey (of 2,965 local students) found loneliness is the top factor affecting mental health. The group will soon launch programs to help improve support for tweens and teenagers.  Idaho Press

SPORTS NEWS

  • Idaho won the Big Sky title and earned its NCAA berth in a decade with a 60 to 57 win over Montana State in downtown Boise on Wednesday night + Ana Beatriz Passos, Ana Pinheiro, and Hope Hassmann led the team under coach Arthur Moreira in a record season.  KTVB
