- ➤ Boise-based Micron Technology nearly tripled its quarterly revenue to about $24B on rising AI memory chip demand, fueling expansion and job growth in the local AI economy. - ➤ Idaho gas prices increased by 7 cents overnight from Thursday and now average $4.06 a gallon, according to AAA—GasBuddy reports the lowest price is at the Costco on Cole Road. KBOI
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ With controlled hunt applications opening May 1, 10 instructor-led hunter ed courses are set to begin in Southwest Idaho. Nampa residents can enroll in the Hunter and Bowhunter Combo Certification on March 24 plus sessions are offered in Mountain Home, Boise, Emmett, Middleton and Kuna at $8 each. KBOI
- ➤ State lawmakers approved a $13.5 million cut to Idaho Digital Learning Academy funding after multiple debate motions. The measure, part of the Fiscal Year 2027 public school support budget, aims to correct virtual education funding issues + protect smaller districts. KBOI
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Brad Little signed a bill on Thursday that requires public schools to start each day with a 60-second moment of silence that does not allow teacher influence (HB-623, sponsored by Rep. Bruce Skaug) and takes effect July 1. KIVI
- ➤ After Nampa Mayor Rick Hogaboam passed away, local organizers announced fundraisers and a prayer vigil to support his family. The events will honor his service and help meet his family's financial needs. Idaho Press
