COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Residents in Nampa can participate in Trash or Treasure on May 16 and 17 when they drop off clean, working household items for neighbors to pick up (registration is now open). The event will help keep useful items out of the landfill. KBOI
- ➤ On May 9, community members will gather for Kaylee Jade Dahlia Day to honor Kaylee Goncalves, and local quilt maker Jodi Frederick sews a quilt modeled on the Kaylee Jade Dahlia to comfort the Goncalves family. KTVB
- ➤ CBS2, FOX9 and NewsTalk KBOI are partnering with Make-A-Wish Idaho for the Wishes in Flight telethon today; the event seeks donations of 60,000 to 70,000 airline miles per ticket to fund flights for kids and their families, aiming at 40 flights. KBOI
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Idaho gas prices increased five cents overnight, with regular unleaded now averaging about $4.30 per gallon. The lowest price of $4.19 was found at Costco on Cole Road, according to AAA data. KBOI
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Treasure Valley Community College will open a new 13.8 million dollar facility (30,000 sqft) this fall to nearly double its nursing capacity and add programs in paramedics, surgical technology, and physical therapy. Applications for the fall nursing cohort close April 15. KTVB
- ➤ Northwest Nazarene University is piloting an eCampus program for adult learners who need flexible online classes. The program features eight-week courses in business, leadership, social work and sports management, with new sessions starting every eight weeks and a full launch scheduled later this year. KBOI
- ➤ Idaho Digital Learning Academy’s budget was reduced by $13.5 million for Fiscal Year 2027, with the new policy narrowing course options for grades six through twelve and addressing double payments. The bill passed on April 2 — now Gov. Little has until April 14 to decide. KBOI
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Mike Long (of 208Cleanup) is calling on volunteers to clean up 20,000 acres of garbage in the high desert west of the Treasure Valley, with the effort scheduled for Saturday, April 11. Donations of bags and dumpsters are in place while tire removal awaits additional fundraising. KIVI

- ➤ AC Boise set a USL League One attendance record of 7,211 in their home opener on Saturday night in Les Bois Park as fans cheered a 1–1 tie with Spokane Velocity & the team prepares for 18 more home games through mid-October. KTVB
