COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Tickets go on sale at 5 a.m. on April 23 for the 2025 St. Jude Dream Home in Oaklawn built by Berkeley Building Company—a fundraiser for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Buyers on sale day enter a contest for Boise State club seats and those purchasing before May 2 also enter to win a Ford Truck while open house tours run May 3-18.  KTVB

CRIME NEWS

  • Nearly a dozen Idahoans were sentenced for fentanyl trafficking in Magic Valley after a task force investigation with help from 10 agencies (including Nampa Police) seized more than 48,000 fentanyl pills and four pounds of meth.  KTVB

ECONOMY NEWS

  • The Shoshone-Paiute and Coeur d’Alene Tribes are taking steps to build a new casino and resort on tribal land along I-84—between Boise and Mountain Home—that needs approval from the U.S. Department of the Interior and is expected to create thousands of jobs while adding over $10 million in annual economic activity.  KIVI

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Today, students and community members at College of Western Idaho are planting 40 trees as part of a campus expansion that aims to create an outdoor classroom and help fight urban heat islands. The 2-acre project will transform the agriculture sciences complex and is funded by a federal grant from the City of Nampa—volunteers from Birch Elementary and Rocky Mountain High School have helped support the effort.  KIVI

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Outfitters said the healthy snowpack this spring should produce robust whitewater for rafting this season—local guides are preparing to meet higher demand.  Idaho Press

  • Bogus Basin has extended its winter season with a bonus weekend that will feature events, live music, and a pond skim on Saturday, April 19 and additional festivities on Sunday, April 20—season pass holders and ski enthusiasts can ride all lifts from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during both days.  KTVB
