  • Idaho Gives, the state’s largest charity event, will kick off Monday, April 28 and run through May 1, inviting community members to donate to over 630 nonprofits — last year 13,600 donors gave $4.3 million and this year the target is for 15,000 donors to raise over $4.65 million — with donations accepted online at IdahoGives.org.  KTVB

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Meteorologist Rachel Garceau discussed Idaho's critical snowpack and the water year ahead while introducing her new KTVB+ Show and recalling a moment from her high school French class.  KTVB

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Idaho Department of Insurance requires property insurers to share data on premiums and service areas by May 20—this survey comes as wildfires drive up rates and trigger policy cancellations for homeowners. Officials plan to use the data to decide if new market rules can help protect locals.  KTVB
  • A state judge ruled on April 17 that Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador must now testify under oath in a lawsuit by former deputy Daphne Huang who claims she was fired for voicing ethical concerns. The deposition will take place on May 15 at (Ada County Courthouse) with trial set to begin on Aug. 12 and discovery to be completed by July 1.  KTVB
