Local rancher Frank Shirts—accompanied by his crew—herded nearly 2,400 sheep through Eagle and across Hwy 55 to their spring grazing grounds in the Boise foothills, and hundreds of people lined the highway to watch.

The sheep will spend the summer grazing in the foothills before returning to Shirts Ranch in Wilder.

Today, over 2,000 sheep will cross Hwy 55 from the Boise Foothills at 10 a.m., and motorists are asked to stay on the side of the road as part of this annual tradition.

City crews will close part of Boise Ave. between Protest and Broadway for emergency sewer repairs expected to finish by Friday, and comedian Ahren Belisle will perform at the Egyptian Theatre tonight with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.—residents should plan accordingly.
