- ➤ Local rancher Frank Shirts—accompanied by his crew—herded nearly 2,400 sheep through Eagle and across Hwy 55 to their spring grazing grounds in the Boise foothills, and hundreds of people lined the highway to watch. The sheep will spend the summer grazing in the foothills before returning to Shirts Ranch in Wilder. KBOI
- ➤ Today, over 2,000 sheep will cross Hwy 55 from the Boise Foothills at 10 a.m., and motorists are asked to stay on the side of the road as part of this annual tradition. City crews will close part of Boise Ave. between Protest and Broadway for emergency sewer repairs expected to finish by Friday, and comedian Ahren Belisle will perform at the Egyptian Theatre tonight with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.—residents should plan accordingly. - ➤ Make-A-Wish Idaho grants wishes to children with critical illnesses and expects over 200 wish requests this year, with each wish costing about $7,500* The program brings hope to families and helps children be brave during treatments. KTVB

- ➤ The Idaho Farm Bureau Federation said that potato acreage in Idaho is expected to drop by 15,000 acres this year, falling from 315,000 to 300,000 acres. Total U.S. potato acreage is forecast to decrease 4 percent from 930,000 to 891,000 acres + strong yields are still expected. KBOI

- ➤ A federal judge halted enforcement of House Bill 83 across the state—citing constitutional concerns—until ongoing litigation resolves the issue, a decision that follows earlier temporary restraining orders blocking the law. KBOI
- ➤ Attorney General Raúl Labrador warned Idaho consumers that door-to-door salesmen falsely claimed a government inspection and free energy audit program—no such program exists—and urged residents to ask for permits and report unlicensed sellers. KBOI
- ➤ On April 30, BLM provided 109 two-way radios to 18 rural fire departments to improve wildfire response. The radios boost coordination—helping local teams work efficiently with BLM resources—during wildfires. KBOI
