- ➤ IDFG said that applications for controlled big-game hunts and fall turkey and swan hunts opened on May 1, while the spring turkey season will close on May 25 and the first Super Hunt drawing deadline will fall on May 31 — missing these deadlines means many may not join the season. A public hearing will be held on May 21 with a business meeting on May 22 in Idaho Falls, and department offices will be closed on May 26 for Memorial Day. KTVB
