CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Dateline NBC special will air today at 8 p.m. on KTVB and show never-before-reported evidence in the Moscow murder case involving four University of Idaho students, including photos, videos, and phone data from accused Bryan Kohberger. The two-hour episode also features interviews with experts and witnesses as it comes ahead of Kohberger’s trial in Ada County in August. KTVB

- ➤ The Idaho Transportation Department warned drivers today as increased road work on Interstate 84 raised risks after a van collided with an attenuator truck in February — no injuries were reported. ITD stressed that careful driving protects road crews — whose work fills potholes to improve safety. KBOI
- ➤ Law enforcement from across Idaho gathered in Meridian Thursday morning as they honored 77 fallen officers — including ACSO Deputy Tobin Bolter, the first Ada County deputy added to the memorial wall — with a roll call, bell tolls and a three-volley gun salute. KTVB
- ➤ Congressman Mike Simpson said he wants to keep federal lands public+ he warned that selling them could force locals to seek permission to cross private property+ he urged lawmakers to protect these lands. Idaho Press
- ➤ The U.S. Army announced Thursday that the Idaho Army National Guard's 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team was chosen to transform into a Mobile Brigade Combat Team as part of an Army-wide modernization, with the unit set to trade Abrams tanks + Bradley Fighting vehicles for Infantry Squad Vehicles. The change will update its combat capabilities as it joins similar transitions with units from North Carolina + Tennessee to better support national defense. KBOI

- ➤ On Monday night, the Caldwell City Council approved the 1,019-unit Verbena Ranch housing project on 282 acres after Toll Brothers West revised lot sizes and infrastructure plans including a regional well and road upgrades—local residents testified against the expansion. The development will include multifamily, single-family and 55-plus age-restricted units and will begin construction later this year with full buildout planned by 2032 or 2033. KTVB
