  • Today in Nampa, Bryan Kohberger faces his final pre-trial hearing at 9 a.m. where details about evidence and witnesses will be discussed—tonight, residents can join a public Q&A on the new SH-16 corridor from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and enjoy the Third Thursday Street Festival with a rodeo theme in downtown from 6 to 9 p.m.  KIVI
  • The local nonprofit Wish Granters will host its signature Wishes & Wine event at Indian Creek Winery on Memorial Day, May 26 from 12-4 p.m. The festival will offer winetasting, live music, food trucks, and a photo booth, with tickets available via their website.  KTVB
  • At a recent Nampa council meeting, three local pastors voiced concerns about the upcoming Canyon County Pride Festival—set for June 8—citing issues such as increased security costs, traffic congestion, and the potential for public tensions. Festival organizer Tom Wheeler stated that organizers have arranged enhanced security measures, a larger park area, and clear policies to ensure a safe and inclusive event for all.  KTVB

  • The defense for the accused who is charged with killing four University of Idaho students plans to argue that others may have committed the murders and must submit sealed evidence by next Friday—prosecutors will reply by June 6 with a hearing scheduled for June 18 and jury selection starting on July 30 in Ada County.  KTVB

CULTURE NEWS

  • A Colorado band named A Brother's Fountain is rafting the Snake River from Melba in an 'Only Music' experiment that started with no money or food—trading songs for goods and warm welcomes from local communities. The musicians will complete their three-week journey on Memorial Day Weekend and document their experience for a future film.  KTVB

ECONOMY NEWS

  • A new report from United Way of Treasure Valley showed that 41% of Idaho households—about 220,000—struggled to afford basic needs such as housing, childcare and food; it noted that 47% of households in Canyon County and 34% in Ada County were affected and that 75% of single mothers experienced these challenges.  KTVB

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Canyon County Ambulance District is seeking a $7.9 million levy in the May 20 election to rebuild stations and hire more paramedics. If approved, the levy will raise property taxes by about $18.62 per $100,000 and take effect Oct. 1.  KTVB
