- ➤ A University of Idaho entomologist confirmed an exotic darkling beetle has infested homes in Treasure Valley—larvae once mistaken for wireworms have been found in Eagle and Emmett. Researchers advised homeowners to water a buffer of grass to reduce the pest threat—further studies will monitor its spread. KTVB
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Crews with the Idaho Transportation Department will start widening Ustick Road west of Meridian tomorrow to build a future interchange and will close the road from McDermott Bypass to Owyhee Storm Avenue for non-local traffic. Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures and traffic signals at key intersections until the project is finished in 2027 — officials plan to keep drivers informed throughout the work. KIVI
