ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Nampa Fire Protection District crews—with help from Upper Deer Flat Fire District—responded to a house fire on Tuesday night in Nampa and controlled heavy flames in the garage before they could spread, ensuring that the owner and pets escaped safely while the cause remains under investigation.  KIVI

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Department of Environmental Quality posted warning signs at Robie Creek Beach after water tests on May 27th showed E. coli levels exceeding state standards—officials ask the public to avoid swimming until repeated tests show safe levels, noting that water in other parts of Lucky Peak Lake remains exceptionally clean.  KIVI

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Nampa will start chip seal road work on Monday, June 2, weather permitting. Residents should trim trees and change watering schedules to ensure proper sealing — speed limits will be reduced and on-street parking banned during work hours.  KIVI

  • Hyperion Realty Capital has purchased Nampa's historic Karcher Mall, now known as District 208, a half-million-square-foot property that has changed hands four times in 20 years. The new owners plan to keep much of the current layout and fix maintenance and low visibility issues — changes that may take years to complete.  KIVI
