- ➤ Authorities are responding to a rollover crash on eastbound I-84 before the Garrity off-ramp in Nampa today, leaving only two lanes available for motorists—commuters are advised to use the left lanes and consider an alternate route due to delays. KIVI
- ➤ Nampa Police Department closed South Valley Drive between 12th Avenue Road and South State Street due to a natural gas leak — Intermountain Gas and the Nampa Fire Department worked to repair the leak and advised drivers to use an alternate route. KBOI
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Fundación Hispana de Idaho will host 'Huellas del Tiempo,' a parade celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month on September 13th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Memorial Park in Caldwell — the event will feature traditional performances and community booths that highlight Latin culture. KTVB
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Idaho Public Safety Communications Commission approved $15 million for a new 911 system that lets residents send pictures, videos, and text messages to dispatch and gets more exact location data from their phones—contracts will be signed next month and most counties will join the upgrade over the next 18 to 24 months. - ➤ The Idaho Transportation Department released a draft plan on July 1 that details a seven-year, $5.8 billion program to improve roads with $200 million a year for pavement and $100 million for bridges.
