ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A spill has forced the City of Nampa to close W. Karcher Road between Midland Boulevard and the Karcher Bypass—crews are on site cleaning the road while motorists are advised to use alternate routes.  KIVI

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The College of Western Idaho opened its new (40-acre) agricultural sciences complex with hands-on classrooms and Nampa's first registered arboretum, teaching plant and soil science. The expansion is part of the college's rapid growth and will add a new student success center (enhancing future learning) for more training in the green industry.  KIVI

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Idaho Lt. Governor Scott Bedke announced Monday he will run for re-election in 2026; he is a native who was sworn in 2023 after being first elected in 2022. He is endorsed by Governor Brad Little, Senator Jim Risch, and groups such as the National Rifle Association — and he is running unopposed as of September 2025.  KTVB
  • Refugees and asylum seekers in Idaho will soon lose access to federal aid programs under a law called the Big, Beautiful Bill as state officials await USDA guidance for changes to SNAP, though no benefits have been taken yet. Starting in October, refugees will be barred from enrolling in Medicaid and CHIP—further cuts will affect ACA and Medicare next year.  KTVB

SPORTS NEWS

  • Athletic Club Boise sold over 6,250 season ticket deposits ahead of its inaugural season—breaking the United Soccer League record from Nashville SC. Construction is underway on a new 7,050-seat stadium at the former Les Bois Park racetrack and the men’s team will join the USL Men's League One in March 2026.  KIVI
