BUSINESS NEWS

  • Zac Barnes from Western Heating and Air advises Nampa residents to schedule fall HVAC maintenance now because cleaning and replacing filters boosts energy efficiency and indoor air quality ahead of winter.  KTVB

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Idaho Transportation Department restarted its plan for electric vehicle charging stations after the federal program resumed funding, having re-submitted its application on Sept 10 and now waiting for the Federal Highway Administration’s approval—if approved, the project will build about 40 stations with 50-mile spacing while allowing state flexibility for future changes.  KTVB
  • Two studies show that rural towns face steep challenges as more than $1 billion is needed to update aging water systems—small communities may pay more or face delays if federal low-interest loans end. Idaho Rural Water Association CEO Shelley Roberts said lawmakers must keep water projects a priority to keep safe water flowing.  KTVB
  • The City of Nampa's pressurized irrigation system will close for the season on Monday, October 6 as water allotments end. The Pioneer Irrigation District and Boise-Kuna Irrigation District will end their irrigation season on October 7 — residents are reminded not to use potable water for lawn irrigation to avoid higher bills and should call the Nampa Water and Irrigation Division if they have valve questions.  KBOI

HEALTH NEWS

  • Independent Doctors of Idaho offers another provider option for Treasure Valley residents. The organization explains the benefits of independent healthcare—open enrollment will begin October 15.  KTVB

SPORTS NEWS

  • Boise State beach volleyball accepted an invitation to join the Big 12 Conference for the 2026 spring season and will play with Florida State and South Carolina—its fall matches will be announced later.  KTVB
