- ➤ Give Hope Food Pantry is working to reduce hunger in Eagle by offering fresh, frozen, and shelf-stable food at Hope Lutheran Church in Nampa and serving about 800 people a month. The pantry operates Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is seeking donations and volunteers to meet rising needs — director Sunshine Evetts said the service has grown from a small project started in 2002. - ➤ Today, Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling delivered her final State of the City address at Ford Idaho Center at 11:30 a.m., reviewing eight years of progress and setting a hopeful direction. Barnes & Noble held a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. at The Village at Meridian with local author Raegan Fordemwaldt signing copies of her book Prince of Hearts— All City Management Services hosted a school crossing guard hiring event at Library at Hillcrest from noon to 2 p.m. offering $37 a day for 2 hours of work. - ➤ Crews broke ground on a $20.9 million project to modernize the Ridenbaugh Diversion Dam that provides water to Treasure Valley landowners—this update will improve worker safety, reduce water loss, and block game-sized fish while being funded by grants from the Bureau of Reclamation and the Idaho Water Resources Board, with completion set for January 2027.
