- ➤ The Idaho Hispanic Foundation has seen a surge in families needing food and winter clothing because the federal shutdown suspended WIC and SNAP benefits—serving over 160 families last month, which is double the number from September. The group is planning its annual 'Share the Day' event on Nov. 20—just before the holidays—to provide additional services such as immunizations, screenings, and housing help. KIVI

- ➤ The Federal Reserve cut its policy rate to below 4%, and mortgage rates still average 6.22% with Ada County showing a 12% rise in sales while Canyon and Twin Falls counties see small drops because a government shutdown has slowed the market. The Fed said further cuts at its December 9 meeting are not guaranteed + a weak jobs market and rising inflation may keep buying power low + future changes will depend on economic recovery. KTVB
