COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Volunteers from the Idaho Veterans Network gathered at the Idaho Veterans Cemetery today to prep wreaths that will honor veteran graves for the holidays, and they plan to complete nearly 5,000 wreaths with extra sessions on November 22 and November 29 before a ceremony on December 13.  KTVB
  • The Flying Wye Bridge on I-84 is under construction with nighttime closures from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., while Valor Health held a ribbon cutting at its new clinic in Emmett at noon today with the official opening set for Dec 1. Boise’s Holiday Tree was moved from Southeast Boise to Boise Centre Grove Plaza with a police escort and 9th and Main closed until noon—drivers should plan ahead and use caution in these work zones.  KIVI

EDUCATION NEWS

  • After a federal court ruling let the Nampa Job Corps Center restart enrollments today, young people seeking free career training in high-demand fields like welding, nursing, and computer coding can reapply—meeting local career needs. The center works with local schools and job fairs to connect students with new training opportunities near the College of Western Idaho.  KIVI

  • Idaho Power is holding a public hearing on Thursday for customers to give feedback on a proposed electricity rate increase that will take effect next year—customers can submit their input to help shape the new rates.  Idaho Press

  • After a heartbreaking loss to Sacramento State on Saturday, head coach Thomas Ford Jr said the Vandals will focus on a win against Idaho State at 1 p.m. in the Kibbie Dome — a meaningful senior day event in Moscow.  KTVB
  • Boise State coaches met with the media on November 17 — at Albertsons Stadium — to preview their game against Colorado State. Spencer Danielson, Nate Potter and Erik Chinander outlined team plans ahead of the matchup.  KTVB
