- ➤ Interfaith Sanctuary marks its 20th anniversary today as it prepares to open a new shelter and host the annual Xtreme Holiday Extravaganza fundraiser in the community. The nonprofit will use the event to continue providing shelter, support and hope to those in need. Idaho Press
- ➤ City crews discovered that squirrels chewed through wires and triggered a circuit breaker on downtown's 22,000-light Christmas tree, leaving it dark. To prevent further damage, crews are now using ultrasonic speakers — peppermint oil as a festive deterrent while repairs are planned for the holiday season. KIVI
- ➤ Baker Auction Company donated 27 carts full of 3,851 toys + games for children at Idaho's Largest Toy Drive, sending them to Toys for Tots, Raise for Rare, and Santa's Toy Box at St. Luke's Children's Hospital. Owner Tyson Baker said his act of giving aimed to spark community generosity. KBOI
- ➤ From Dec. 8 to Dec. 23, Idaho Humane Society will showcase adoptable pets on KTVB's News at Noon, where local families can see dogs, cats, and even a bunny looking for a new home. Viewers may also support the Pet Food Pantry if they cannot adopt. KTVB

- ➤ This December, Idaho Fish and Game will stock over 4,500 catchable rainbow trout in lakes and ponds statewide, with family-friendly spots available in the southwest and Magic Valley. Youth under 14 fish for free with a valid fishing license. KIVI

- ➤ Boise State hosted a press conference to discuss the upcoming LA Bowl against the Huskies on Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. MT in its press room — following the win over UNLV in the Mountain West Championship. KIVI
- ➤ Utah State and Washington State will play in the 29th Famous Idaho Potato Bowl at Albertsons Stadium on Dec. 22, with kickoff at 12 p.m. MT on ESPN. The bowl also previews a future Pac-12 realignment involving Utah State and other teams. KIVI
