If you've ever sat waiting on a train at Robinson Road and Greenhurst Road, this one's for you. Nampa has been selected to receive up to $42.98 million in federal funding for an overpass there, which the city says is the largest transportation grant in its history. It's also the second big federal award this year, after $23 million in July for the Northside Corridor.
The overpass would replace the current at-grade crossing, which the city says has frequent blockages from train operations. Construction is expected to start in early 2030 and take up to three years.
- Total project cost: $53.7 million
- Local match: 20% from city and Nampa Highway District No. 1
- Robinson Road traffic by 2050: 16,200 vehicles a day, from 5,500
