If you've sipped a Famici wine, it was made in Caldwell. Famici Wine Co. makes and bottles its wines at the University of Idaho's Food Technology Center and Agribusiness Incubator, which the Post Register describes as filling a key niche for Idaho's wine industry.
Winemaker C.J. Northrup and his wife, Janet, dreamed of owning a small vineyard and winery after summer trips teaching geology classes in Sardinia, Italy. Will Wetmore, owner of Veer Wine Project, also stores casks at the incubator.
- Vineyard: Northrup's 2026 crop grows at Famici's vineyard
- Tasting room: Northrup has an award-winning Primitivo at Famici's
Also in Caldwell, KTVB tells the story of a widow who spent years sharing her late husband's pancreatic cancer story. She believes it's why the man she loves now survived the same disease.
